Gary Hillman, 77, of Rigby, passed away June 1, 2015, at his home.
Gary was born March 24, 1938, in Mammoth, Utah, to Charles Edward Hillman and Mary Emily Harker Hillman. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On April 5, 1957, he married Gladys Lydia McGary in Lincoln, Idaho. To this union were born four children, Roxanne, Brent, Rochelle, and Monique. Gary and Gladys made their home in Rigby, Idaho, where they owned Hillman Home Improvements.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, spending time with his family, working in his yard, and traveling with Gladys.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gladys Hillman of Rigby, ID;
daughter, Roxanne (Rod) Welch of Rigby, ID;
son, Charles Brent (Linda) Hillman of Rigby, ID;
daughter, Monique Stimpson of Hansen, ID;
12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Hillman, his daughter, Rochelle Hillman, and all of his siblings.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Teton Cancer Institute, staff at Teton Healthcare Hospice, Chris and Randy Moedl, and all family and friends who have helped and visited Gary during this illness.
