GARY "HACK" HACKWORTH
SWAN VALLEY, ID -- Gary “Hack” Hackworth, 45, of Dillon, Montana, passed away May 10, 2010, in Swan Valley, Idaho.
He was born March 30, 1965, to Betty Jean Garrell Hackworth and Donald Leroy Hackworth in Twin Falls. The family moved to Idaho Falls when he was two. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1983. In his four years of high school, he participated in welding and rodeo, where he did team roping, bareback riding and bull riding. After high school, he completed his electrical apprenticeship and became a member of IBEW.
On July 5, 1988, he married Deana Snavely in Rigby, Idaho. They were later divorced. An 8 to 5 job was not his desire. Those who knew Gary best knew to look for him in the hills where he would be on his horse, dogs by his side. Gary was born to be a cowboy. He will be sorely missed.
His is survived by his companion, Sandy Messenger, of Dillon, MT; mother, Betty Hackworth; daughter, Amanda Hackworth; sisters, Valerie (Ryan) Packer and Lisa (Terry) Morton, all of Idaho Falls; brothers, Clint (Kay) Parks, Twin Falls; Bob (Rosanna) Miller, Stratford, CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 1 p.m. at King Equestrian Center, 677 East 65th South (York Rd), Idaho Falls. Pastor Scotty Brown will be officiating.
