GARY BLACKBURN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Gary Jess Blackburn, 73, of Idaho Falls, died June 20, 2006 at his home.
He was born April 29, 1933, at Ririe, Idaho, to Jess Lorin Blackburn and Hazel M. Ferguson Blackburn. The family moved to Bremerton, Washington, where he attended grade school. The family later moved to Idaho Falls, where he attended O. E. Bell Junior High and Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Army 25th Division during the Korean War.
On December 8, 1956, he married Shirley Blinkenbaker in Great Falls, Montana. She preceded him in death on December 9, 1990. On October 17, 1998, he married Linda Chase in Ririe. He worked in the construction industry as a Brick and Stone Mason and worked on many homes, schools, and businesses in the area.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, golfing, dancing, and playing pool.

Stepdaughter: Cindy (Brett) Whitmill, Rigby, ID
Stepdaughter: Marie (Michael) DeWitt, Cottonwood Heights
Brother: Gayle G. (Rena) Blackburn, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Bob J. Blackburn, Seattle, WA
Sister: Meryl (Don) Nelson, Iona, ID
17 Grandchildren & 7 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Colleen Summers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge).
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Archer-Sutton Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
