Biography

Gary Lee Batté, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 8, 2011, at his home. He was born December 10, 1944, in Los Angeles, California to Charles Frederick Batté and Ruby Marie Christopherson Batté. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Adolf Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during the Vietnam War. He continued his education by attending University of Idaho and Idaho State University, but always cheered for the Broncos of Boise State University! He received a Master’s Degree from ISU and U of I. On December 27, 1968, he married JoNell Krysty in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. On July 1, 1988, he married Deanna Beckman in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. He worked as a consultant for Vantage Systems, Inc. and previously for Argonne National Lab-West in their security and technical departments. Gary loved his kids and was an active supporter in all they did. His dogs, Tazzy Mae and Willy, also held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed the state in which he resided and his friends were his prized possessions. Survivors are: Daughter: Amy Batté (David) Byrd, Boise, ID Son: Zach Batté, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Jennifer Batté, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Christopher Batté, Akron, OH Daughter: Payton Batté, Idaho Falls, ID 3 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ron Batté. A gathering will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls. The family suggests memorial donations for Payton’s benefit be made through a special account set up with Chase Bank (formerly Washington Mutual) , Account #303 233 5527.
