Garth Ralph Cunningham, 75, of Idaho Falls, ID passed away September 3, 2014, at Middle Fork Peak Lookout, near Salmon, ID, from injuries sustained in a UTV accident.
Garth was born September 18, 1938 in Idaho Falls to Ralph Lewis Cunningham and Edna Bodily Cunningham. He grew up and attended area schools, graduating from Bonneville High School and later Ricks College in Rexburg. Garth served his country while in the National Guard. He worked for Ellsworth Engineering for years before becoming an owner of Mountain River Engineering.
On April 20, 1962 Garth married Gloria Mae Dial in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Garth and Gloria were married for almost 50 years before Gloria passed away on January 10, 2012. On July 28, 2012 Garth married Christina Myntti Garn in the Rexburg LDS Temple.
Garth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Northwestern States Mission. Garth also served in various positions including as a Bishop at BYU-Idaho.
Garth enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, rafting and side-by-side trips with his family and friends. He loved attending his grandchildren’s activities and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Cunningham and his parents, Ralph and Edna Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Ammon LDS Foothills Stake Center (3934 East 49 South) with Bishop Jim Hansen of the Ammon 27th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road and from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor guard.
