Garda D. Andrus - 04/02/2003 Garda D. Andrus - 04/02/2003 GARDA D. ANDRUS IDAHO FALLS, ID - Garda Doman Andrus, 87, of Idaho Falls, died April 2, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born March 31, 1916,in Rigby, Idaho, to Thomas Edward Doman and Ada Cordon Chandler Doman. She lived in Dehlin, Idaho until age two, then on the Bluebird Ranch in Rigby for 20 years. She attended Rigby Elementary and Jr. High Schools, graduating from Rigby High School in 1934. She received her Associate Degree in Elementary Education at Ricks College in 1938 and later received her Bachelors Degree from Brigham Young University in 1975. She married Thomas Edgar Andrus in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple July 20, 1938. They lived in Clark, Idaho in a hand made trailer for three years, then in Ucon, Idaho, for 56 years. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and an elementary school teacher. Her husband preceded her in death January 2, 2001. She has resided at Fairwinds Assisted Living Center for the past two and a half years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School organizations. She served a full-time mission with her husband in Tillamook, Oregon. She was always in service to others, enjoyed scripture reading, music, crocheting, poetry writing, cooking, sewing, teaching children and reading to others. She was instrumental in the passage of the Federal Special Education Law #94-142. Surviving are:Daughter: Sharon (Darrell)Long, Shelley, IDDaughter: Patricia (Stephen) Beus, Pittsburgh, PASon: Thomas Dean (Kathie) Andrus, Ucon, IDSon: Donald Robert (Ruth) Andrus, Perry, UTSon: Kay LeGrand (Cathy) Andrus, Omaha, NEDaughter: Anne Louise (Floyd) Roundy, Centerville, UTSon: James Howard (Paula) Andrus, Peoria, AZ37 Grandchildren, 50 Great Grandchildren, (2 expected), and 1 Great Great Grandchild expected in May.She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, her husband, Thomas Edgar, a son, David Doman and a daughter, Julie Marie. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Monday, April 7, 2003 at the Milo LDS 1st Ward, 12127 North 75 East, with Bishop Kipp Manwaring officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
