Click Here To View Memorial Video OBITUARY INFORMATION Fred Dewey Fredric Allen Dewey, 77, of Egin, Idaho, passed away January 10, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, after a lifelong struggle with heart disease. Fred was born May 4, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Andrew Dorr Dewey, Jr. and Avanel Allen Dewey. He grew up and attended schools in Salt Lake City, West Yellowstone, Montana, and Henderson, Nevada. Fred served for nine years with the Utah Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve during the Korean Conflict. On July 20, 1956, he married Janet Linda Abbott in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Janet passed away after forty-one years of marriage on February 17, 1998. Fred worked as a representative for a large Canadian company and for a steel company, traveling extensively in the United States and Canada. He later founded a local Idaho Falls hydraulic jack business. On October 30, 1999, he married Judith Margaret Lankard Felt in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Fred and Judy made their home in Egin, Idaho, after Fred’s retirement. Fred was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions. The two he most enjoyed were serving as executive secretary to Bishop Doug Smith in the Idaho Falls 11th Ward and at the church farm in Bone. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and firearms. He was an avid skier, boater, and loved anything with a motor on it. He could often be found in his shop fixing, building, and inventing. After a great deal of business travel by air, he enjoyed traveling by motor home with Judy and his faithful dog, Belle. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Judy Dewey of Egin, ID; son, Brett Dewey of Boise, ID; daughter, Shelley (Bill) Scott of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Tonya (Steve) Oram of Rigby, ID; son, Andrew Dewey of Idaho Falls, ID; stepson, Scott (Alison) Felt of Citrus Heights, CA; stepson, Brian (Jennifer) Felt of Rexburg, ID; stepson, Keith (Amy) Felt of Woodinville, WA; stepson, David (Laura) Felt of Elko, NV; stepdaughter, Emily (Brian) Adams of Hayward, CA; sister, Joan Peterson of Salt Lake City, UT; 25 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his first wife and his parents. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Egin Bench LDS Ward, 1633 East 400 North, in Egin, with Bishop Brandon Moon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Egin church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, beginning at 3 p.m., with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

11 a.m. ,Saturday, January 18, 2014 Egin Bench LDS Ward 1633 E 400 N Egin, ID, Fremont 83445 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Egin church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, beginning at 3 p.m., with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
