Fred Lott

Fred Newton Lott, 84, of Soda Springs, passed away May 14, 2015, at Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. Fred was born December 9, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Hyrum Franklin Lott and Glendora Duffin Lott. He grew up and attended schools in Menan, Idaho, and graduated from Midway High School. Fred served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On January 14, 1951, he married Vonda May Barney in Tempe, Arizona. To this union were born four children, Jay, Sherry, Randy Fred, and Teresa. Fred, Vonda and their children were sealed together in the Logan Temple in 1967. Fred and Vonda made their home in Soda Springs, Idaho, where Fred worked as a mine supervisor for JR Simplot. Vonda passed away March 23, 1991. His latest spouse, Vonda Warren Lott, preceded him in death on February 16, 2013. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, square dancing, cards, and bingo. Fred is survived by his son, Jay J. (Dawna) Lott of Soda Springs, ID; daughter, Sherry Hill of Soda Springs, ID; son, Randy Fred (Debbie) Lott of Soda Springs, ID; daughter, Teresa Sheppick of McCammon, ID; stepdaughter Connie Morgan; stepson Kent Warren; stepson Mark Warren; stepdaughter Jewel Harker; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; wife, Vonda May Barney Lott; and his latest wife, Vonda Warren Lott. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Counselor Matthew Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
