FRED O. GARDNER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Fred Oscar Gardner, 71, of Rifle, Colorado, died November 24, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho of injuries received in an automobile accident earlier that day in Idaho Falls.
Fred was born April 8, 1930, at Grand Valley, Colorado, to Fred Gayland Gardner and Henrietta Sill Gardner. He grew up in Grand Valley, where he attended Battlement Mesa and Grand Valley Schools. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Fred married Ethel Jane Lewis December 28, 1954, in Grand Valley, Colorado. They made their home in various places in Colorado until settling in Rifle 36 years ago. Fred worked as a repairman and installer for Mountain Bell Telephone Company, which later became A T & T.
He enjoyed wood working, ranching, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
