Frederick Walter Brewer, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 8, 2018, at his home. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Fred was born September 11, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to Donald Marion Brewer and Veronica Theresa Riley Brewer. He grew up and attended schools in Redding, California, and graduated from Sunnyvale High School. He also attended Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School in Idaho Falls.
On June 11, 1981, he married Merla Jean Brown in Shelley, Idaho. To this union were born eight children, Ty, John, Jolene, Jeanette, Jessica, Jennifer, Charlee and Jason. Fred and Merla made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Frederick worked as a truck driver for Edwards Brothers, Purple Sage, Western Transport, Americana, and May Trucking.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Merla Brewer of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Ty (Anna) Brewer of Idaho Falls, ID; son, John David (Susan) Brewer of Ucon, ID; daughter, Jolene Desireé (Jason) Smith of Roberts, ID; daughter, Jeanette Diane (Travis) Covert of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jessica Colleen Brewer of IA; daughter, Jennifer Christine Brewer of IA; daughter, Charlee (Eric) Bauch of HI; sister, Roxanne Edwards of Idaho Falls, ID; 26 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Veronica Brewer, sister, Pamella, granddaughters, Telicia Dawn, Josphine and Joclynn, great-grandson, Levon, and three great-grandbabies, two of which were twins.
A luncheon with an open microphone will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the LDS Church building at 2051 South Emerson. The family will visit with friends from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
