Frankie Smith

Frankie Mae Smith, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 9, 2018, at her home.

Frankie was born September 20, 1937, in Earle, Arkansas, to Mayhew Larmore and Frankie McGrown Larmore. She grew up in the area and attended Earle Dunbar High School.

On October 16, 1955, she married John Henry Smith in Earl, Arkansas. To this union were born 14 children: Sam, Johnnie Mae, Benny, Bernice, Eddie, Handle, Pernell, Lashell, Cynthia, Darion, James, John, Janet, and Andrea. Frankie was a devoted wife and mother. In the 1970s, they moved to Chicago, Illinois and in the 1990s the family moved to Gary, Indiana. In 2001, after the passing of her husband of 45 years, Frankie moved to Idaho Falls.

Frankie was raised in a Baptist home. She found Christ at the early age of seven, and never lost her faith in God Almighty. She loved cooking, barbeques, and spending time with family and friends. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother, etc. She was loved by all that knew her. She had a truly blessed soul. She will be terribly missed.

Frankie is survived by her daughter, Bernice (Dwight) Taylor of Gary, IN; son, Eddie G. Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Pernell (Veronica) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Lashell Alade of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cynthia A. Evans of Chicago, IL; son, Darion R. Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; son, James T. (Lynysia) Smith of Milwaukee, WI; son, John H. (Koren) Smith, Jr. of Everett, WA; daughter, Janet Boyde of Boise, ID; daughter, Andrea Mims of Portland, OR; sister, Willie B. Braxton of Cleveland, OH; brother, Mayhew "Uncle Pookie" Larmore of Cleveland, OH; sister, Blanche Carter of Cleveland, OH; and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Sammy Lee Smith and Benny Lee Smith; two daughters, Johnnie Mae Smith and Handle Louise Smith; five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Pastor Robert Edwards of New Hope Church of God in Christ (COGIC), officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
