Frank La Vern Rogers was born May 21, 1958 in San Diego, California. He grew up in Escondido, California, and graduated from San Pascal High School. Growing up, he enjoyed surfing and fishing the ocean, and motorcycle racing at Carlsbad Raceway. Frank excelled at carpentry and construction, doing some of the most physical aspects of it, including roofing and framing.
Frank’s parents Frank and Diane Rogers instilled in him and his three siblings Mark, Ramona, and Renee, an understanding of close sibling bonding, a strong work ethic, and a task well done. Frank actively pursued God as he saw demonstrated by his parents.
Frank could really put together and nail a roof and frame a structure. Alongside his brother, Mark, Frank roofed countless homes and structures across Southern California. In 1992, he moved to Idaho, where he became known for building log cabins and custom homes in Teton Valley, Idaho, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He continued his work on both residential and commercial projects in the Idaho Falls area. Originally he came to Teton Valley to build his aunt and uncle’s log cabin alongside his Uncle Ronnie and Cousin Glenn. He was not going to stay in Idaho, but he fell in love with the mountains, hunting, and Stacy.
Frank set down his carpenter’s bags in 2020, and soon after began working with the City of Idaho Falls at the wastewater facility. It was there that, following an accident, Frank tragically drowned on September 20, 2025.
Frank was easy to like, quick witted, and flavors the funniest stories of his colorful life. He would easily and very naturally make us laugh. He knew how to be a good friend.
Frank had two sons, Frankie and Hunter. Between the two of them, they know that they were both his pride. Equally so were his two daughters, Tia and Sage, his sweeties.
Though legally divorced five years ago, Frank and his wife Stacy continued to walk through life together with a deepening closeness and mutual reliance that remained strong until his passing.
Frank will be remembered for his Portuguese features, beautiful bronze skin, long dark hair, searching brown eyes, hearty laugh, and as a man whose life was transformed by Jesus. His family finds comfort that he found peace and happiness on this earth and reaped joy. In addition, his lifelong passion for the sport of motocross and riding dirt bikes continues in the Rogers family.
Frank’s parents, Frank and Diane Rogers, of Escondido, California, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Frank Allen Rogers (Amy) of Escondido, CA; Tia Louise Nilsen (Mike) of Canyon Lake, CA; Sage Rogers (Devyn Christian) of Blackfoot, ID; and Hunter Bruce Rogers (Jessica) of Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by Stacy Beazer-Rogers of Idaho Falls; seven grandchildren, Harper, Lennon, Maci, Talen, Tinsley, Monida, and Sunny; siblings, Mark Rogers (Jill) of Lake Elsinore, CA; Ramona Lee (Scott) of Vista, CA; Renee Williams (Devin) of Yuma, AZ; his cousins and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
