Frank Mcbride

Frank McBride, 93, of Ammon, passed away November 27, 2011, at his home of causes incident to age. He was under the care of his loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Frank was born December 4, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jesse Burt McBride and Mary Susannah Jones McBride. He grew up and attended schools in Victor and graduated as Valedictorian from Victor High School. On September 4, 1940, he married Dorothy Deanne Kunz in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Victor, where he worked as a farmer and rancher. They later lived in Chubbuck and Ammon. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Frank served in various capacities over the years. He served a full-time mission to the Northwest States in his youth. After their children were raised they served two missions to South Africa, one in Zimbabwe and South Africa, and one in the Johannesburg Temple. He served as a temple officiator for 18 years. Frank also helped with the hikes at Girls Camp and was a hospice volunteer. He was active in public education and farm and water programs. He loved gardening, building bird houses, needlepoint, painting, hunting, trapping, fishing, and raising and picking berries. People came from around the world to visit his garden. Frank is survived by his son, Wayne (Patricia) McBride of Lindon, UT, three daughters, Annette (Terry) Johnson of Bancroft, ID, Mary Jean Wootton of Ammon, ID, and Gayle (Walter) Young of Wallsburg, UT; 27 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, and a son-in-law, John Wootton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011, at the Victor LDS 2nd Ward, 87 East Center Street, Victor, Idaho, with Bishop Ken Louk of the Ammon 15th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be next to Dorothy in the Victor Cemetery.
