FRANK B. ELLSWORTH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Frank Blair Ellsworth, 87, of Idaho Falls, died October 5, 2001, at the Idaho Falls Care Center.
Frank was born May 7, 1914, along with a twin brother, Fred Ray Ellsworth, to Frank B. and Minnie Jane Fisher Ellsworth in Rigby, Idaho. He received his early education in Rigby, Idaho and Oakland, California. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California in Berkley, California, graduating in 1 938.
He worked for the Union Oil Company of California while going to the University. After graduation, he worked for Johnson and Johnson for five years, serving two and one half years as their representative in the Hawaiian Islands. While in the Islands, he met Jane Irving Pope, of Los Angeles, who was an exchange student and had taught for a year in Hawaii.
After the War started they both returned to the mainland in 1941 and were married in Berkeley, California on July 26, 1942.
After working on the mainland for Johnson and Johnson, he volunteered for active duty in the U. S. Navy. He attended Indoctrination School in Tucson, Arizona, then was assigned to the Atlantic Theater as a Lt. JG. After serving for a year, he was transferred to Armed Guard Duty in the Pacific area, then to a Navy troop transport.
After the war, he and Jane joined his two brothers, Jack and Fisher, in Idaho Falls where they purchased the Preston A. Blair Company Dodge-Plymouth Agency that had done business since 1916. His twin brother, Captain Fred R. Ellsworth was shot down and lost in action while conducting an Air Force bombing raid of Italy in 1943.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, a life-time member of the local Elks Club and a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA. He was a Charter Member of the Idaho Falls Country Club and served as the Board of Director and Third President of the Club. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau and was very active in the automobile business serving two terms as President of the local Automobile Dealer's Association as well as being on the Board of Directors of the State of Idaho Automobile Board of Directors. While on the Board he served as Vice President and President of the Association.
He was also very active in the National Automobile Dealer Association, representing all of the dealers of the State on the National board serving as their director for three terms, or nine years. He also served three years as a member of the Retirement Trust of NADA as well as three years as a member of the Insurance Trust of N.A.D.A. He enjoyed his family and spent many hours with them, traveling, boating, fishing, skiing, and playing golf, which he did for many years.

Cooper, Idaho Falls, IDBrother: Jack Ellsworth, Sr., Escondido, CASister: Mabel Mueller, Walnut Grove, CA 5 Grandchildren, Robert & Sam in Pocatello, and Autumn, Erika, & Spencer of Idaho Falls.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fisher, Fred and Sister, Viola, and son, Jim, in 1994, at 42, who, at the time of his death, was President of Ellsworth Brothers, Inc.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 Monday, October 9, 2001, at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Bishop Arthur Rammell of the Idaho Falls LDS Boulevard Ward officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
