Frances Skelton, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in her sleep. A fourth generation Idahoan, she was born April 26, 1928, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Charles A. and Delia Chriswell Bundte. She graduated in 1946 from Idaho Falls High School where she was active in drama, music and pep clubs. She married Leon Skelton on February 16, 1951 in Elko, Nevada. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Idaho Falls throughout her life. She was one of the original founders of the Bonneville County Museum in 1983, which later became the Museum of Idaho. According to Lindon Bateman she was, “the heart and soul” of obtaining the old public library for the museum, by her continual advocating to the City Council. Preceded in death by her brother Charles “Bill” Bundte, survivors include her husband of 51 years, Leon Skelton; a son, Pat Skelton; two daughters, Lynne Ann Schwarz and Jennifer Starkey; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 Saturday June 30, 2012, at the Ammon Cemetery with the Reverend Ben Moore Officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
