Frances Delores Anderson Riley, 81, former resident of Pocatello, passed away on August 20, 2012, at her home in Palo Alto, CA.
She was born July 17, 1931, in San Francisco, California. She grew up and attended schools in the San Francisco Bay Area.
On July 7, 1951, she married Jim Riley in Reno, Nevada. They raised their family in the San Francisco Bay Area and later moved to Pocatello. Fran was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked as an executive secretary for the American Language Academy at Idaho State University and later retired from Stanford University Medical Center in Infection Control. She and her husband belonged to the Elks Lodge in Pocatello. Jim preceded her in death on July 27, 1985.
Fran was a parish member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Los Altos, California, She was active in Right of Christian Iniation for Adults (RCIA) and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a former member of the St. Anthony Parish in Pocatello.
She enjoyed reading, motorcycle riding, skiing, sky diving, flying airplanes, and just the thrill of life. She loved to travel and did extensive traveling through Europe.

Son: Brian Riley, San Jose, CA
Son: Keith (Carolina) Riley, Tracy, CA
5 Grandchildren: Timothea (Lee), Kevin (Cherish), Jan Erik, Justin, and Krystal
4 Great Grandchildren: Ethan, Blake, Trinity, and Paytin
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her twin sister, Marion.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 6, 2012, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (584 West Sexton Street in Blackfoot) with Rev. Jose de Jesus Gonzalez officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello.
