Frances Fugate

Frances C. Fugate, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born May 20, 1940, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Frank Owen Calderwood and Eva Victoria Hallman Calderwood. She graduated from East High School and later attended college at the University of Utah and Stevens-Henager Business College. She married Gary Lee Merrill in 1960 .Together they had a son, Scott. They were later divorced. She married Sidney Roy Fugate in 1965. Together they had two daughters, Kendall and Jennifer. Frances and Sidney later divorced. Frances lived in Yellowstone Park and later moved to Idaho Falls. She lived in Centerville, Utah and Pocatello, Idaho before eventually returning to Idaho Falls. Frances owned and operated the KOA Campground in Pocatello, Idaho. She later retired from the U.S. Department of Energy after working there for 23 years. Survivors include: Son, Gary Scott (Diane) Fugate of Salt Lake City, UT Daughters, Kendall (Larry) Barger and Jennifer (Art) Baker, both of Idaho Falls, ID Sisters, Mary Beth (Jim) Anderson of St. George, UT and Cathy Greaves of Centerville, UT seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) with Scott Fugate officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. and one hour prior to services, both at Wood’s. Burial will be Noon, Saturday at the Lakeview Cemetery (1640 E. Lakeview Dr.) in Bountiful, Utah.
