Frances Valerie (Cacciapaglio) Smith

Frances Valerie Cacciapaglio Smith returned to her Father in Heaven on June 25, 2022, at the home of her daughter, Leah Schneider.

Frances was born June 30, 1927, to Giannato and Francesca Cacciapaglio in Rockford, Illinois, and spent much of her life there.

She married the love of her life, Francis Smith, on June 14, 1947. Their marriage was sealed for eternity on July 3, 1959, in the Logan, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and served in the Saint Louis, Missouri Mission for 1 ½ years, as well as serving as a Seminary teacher, a Relief Society President, and many other callings. She served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher into her 90's. Her greatest love was her Savior, her husband, and her children. She was an outstanding and devoted mother.

She is survived by her six children, Linda Sorensen (Reid) of East Troy, Wisconsin, Laurie Robinson (Jimmy) of Ammon, Idaho, Michael Smith (Shane) of Ojai, California, Lisa Gregory (Buford) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matthew Smith (Tomi) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Leah Schneider (Dale) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sister, Ann Arnould of Portage, Wisconsin; brother, John Cacciapaglio (Noreen) of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Helen Cacciapaglio of La Crosse, Wisconsin; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4  great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Smith; parents, Giannato and Francesca Cacciapaglio; and brothers, Matthew and Vince Cacciapaglio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406. The funeral services will be broadcast live to this page. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery, 5226 E. Sunnyside Road, Ammon, Idaho.
