Frances Butler

Frances Blanche Reeder Butler, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 27, 2017, at The Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center.

Frances was born February 16, 1928, in Treasureton, Idaho, to Thomas John Reeder and Bessie Cole Reeder. She grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Preston High School. She also attended Idaho State University.

On June 11, 1948, she married Irvin A. Butler in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 3, 1996. To this union were born five children, John, David, Steven, Rick, and Dianna. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed square dancing and traveling to different places. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.

Frances is survived by son, John (Cindy) Butler of Farmington, UT, son, David L. (Karen) Butler of Cedar City, UT, son, Steven (Monicka) Butler of Idaho Falls, ID, son, Richard (Musette) Butler of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Dianna (Jay) Lords of Boise, ID, sister, Erma Walker of Delta, UT, brother, Neal (Marie) Reeder of Malad City, ID, sister, Alice Johnson of Stock Valley, ID, sister, Nedra Hodges of Woods Cross, UT, brother, Vernon (Lorna) Reeder of Lehi, Utah. 16 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Barker Butler; siblings, Violet Weeks, George Reeder, Amber Orem, Ruth Young, Vera Gilbert, Jennie Reeder, Edna Reeder, and Lola Reeder, John Reeder who passed away on Saturday; and great grandson, Cayden Butler.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
