FLOYD J. RIGGS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Floyd James Riggs, 59, of Idaho Falls, died February 5, 2005, at his home from esophageal cancer. He was born June 9, 1945, in Silverton, Marion, Oregon, to Carl Burton Riggs and Beaulah Frances Short Riggs. He grew up and attended Silver Crest Grade School and graduated from Silverton Union High School in 1963. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. He married Margi Brown July 15, 1967, in Alderwood Manor, Washington. They lived in Silverton, Oregon, for 40 years, moved to Rockland, Idaho, for 4 years, and have lived in Idaho Falls the past 15 years. He was a Journeyman Painter, First Class at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family, his twin sons and grandchildren, Hunter James, McKenzi Laura, Chase James, Ryan James and Peyton James Riggs. Surviving are: Wife: Margi Riggs, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Matt James (Leigh) Riggs, Los Alamos, NM Son: Trent James (Heather) Riggs, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Dru (Bill) LeBlanc, Brimley, MI Sister: Nori (Steve) Kaser, Silverton, OR 5 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leon C. Riggs. A viewing with family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2005, at the Silverton Christian Church in Silverton, Oregon. Burial will be in the Green Mountain Cemetery in the Silverton Hills. A Memorial Service will be held in Idaho Falls, at 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2005, at the Wood East Side Chapel, where Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel.
