Floyd R Bowles

Floyd R Bowles, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 2, 2023, at his home.

Floyd was born May 1, 1939, in Milo, Idaho, to Wilford Woodruff Bowles and Hazel Marie Tyler Bowles. He grew up and attended schools in Milo and graduated from Bonneville High School. He also attended the University of Idaho.

On August 9, 1960, he married Helen Grover in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Floyd and Helen made their home in Idaho Falls and Moscow where Floyd worked as a mechanical engineer for the University of Idaho. They raised a family of eight children.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed photography. He designed and built a custom home.

Floyd is survived by his daughter, Marie (Tom) Larson of Pocatello, ID; daughter, Della (Terry) Julius of Shelley, ID; daughter, Kathy (Chuck) Carone of Tempe, AZ; son, Richard Bowles of Layton, UT; daughter, Helen (Jack) Scott of Shelley, ID; daughter, Shawna (Joel) Yuill of Coeur d'Alene, ID; son, Wade (Brenda) Bowles of Spokane, WA; son, Kay Dean (Denise) Bowles of Richland, WA; brother, Roy (Devona) Bowles of Lakefield, Ontario, Canada; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Jean Bowles and Louise Bowles; brothers, Lee Bowles and Richard Bowles.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Brookview Ward, 1925 E. 49th S. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
