Florine Ray Culbreth, 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 4, 2013, at her home.
Florine was born February 21, 1919 in Burlington, North Carolina, to Clarence McCoulough Ray and Helen Hogan Ray. She attended Elon University and the University of Hawaii where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Florine married Howard Cranford Culbreth on July 7, 1943, in Andalasia, Alabama. They made their home in Kailua, Hawaii, before moving to Idaho Falls in 2004. Howard passed away on April 23, 2013. Florine worked for the Department of Education in Honolulu for twenty years.
Florine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, and was a member of a book club.
Florine is survived by
Son, Steven Culbreth of Kailua, Hawaii;
Granddaughter, Alexa (Brent) Kulia;
Two great grandsons, Miles and Wyatt of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Cathy, and two sons, Howard II of Las Vegas Nevada, and Robert of Grangeville, Idaho.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be at a later date at Punchbowl of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii.
