SYLVIA RASMUSSEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Florence Sylvia Peterson Rasmussen,
91, a loyal, respected and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
great great grandmother, sister and friend joined her Father in Heaven
and many loved ones on September 5, 2004. She was born April 2, 1913,
in Garfield, Idaho to John Henry Peterson and Florence Mary Jeffs Peterson.
She married John Fielding Rasmussen October 5, 1930,
and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple on July 30, 1936. They
lived and raised 4 children in Terreton, Idaho until 1959, when they moved
to Idaho Falls. Growing up during the depression, she learned how to save
and work hard.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, she faithfully served in the temple and in many callings
throughout her life. She was a kind and caring woman giving of herself
to family and friends. Her strength and support will be missed. Mom leaves
behind an unrivaled legacy of kindness, love, humility and charity.
She is survived by her children, Berniece Stacey (Farrel),
Don J. Rasmussen (Marlene) and Rose Marie Giles (Frank); her brothers,
Von LeRoy Peterson (Phyllis), Golden Virgil Peterson (Lois), and Harvey
Lavon Peterson (Annette); 19 Grandchildren; 57 Great Grandchildren and
5 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter,
Mary Jane; three brothers, Spencer, Floyd, and Lee; and two sisters, Rozella
Crystal and Genevieve Peterson.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September
10, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward (651 Gladstone), with Bishop
Mel Georgeson officiating.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects
on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon)
and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home.
