Fernando Martinez

Fernando Martinez, 41, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 27, 2011, at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, of natural causes. Fernando was born August 22, 1969, in Estacion Lopez Mateos, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Antonio Martinez and Rosa Elva Munoz Martinez. He grew up and attended schools in Mexico. When he was 16 years old he came to the United States. He married Norma Orellana in 1987 and they had three children, Fernando, Eric, and Perla. They divorced in 2003. He met Estela Maldonado in 2006 and they have a son, Cristian. Fernando was a truck driver and owned and operated Martinez Transport. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Fernando enjoyed baseball, hunting, and spending time with his family. Fernando is survived by his children, Fernando A. (KayDee) Martinez, Eric A. Martinez, Perla J. Martinez, and Cristian Martinez, all of Idaho Falls, ID; four brothers, Daniel (Nora) Martinez of Chihuahua, Mexico, David (Lorena) Martinez of Phoenix, AZ, and Martin (Azucena) Martinez of Dalhart, TX and Antonio (Yvette) Martinez of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Nelda (Aurelio) Cosio of Idaho Falls, ID, and Paola (Marlo) Delim of Phoenix, AZ; a grandson, Carmine Martinez, and his partner, Estela Maldonado of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, February 4, 2011, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 9th & Lee. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
