Alice Faye Monson, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Known for her kindness, steady strength, and generous heart, Faye left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born on April 16, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Clifford and Maurine Clements. Faye grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and simple joys. She attended school in the Lincoln area, and later graduated from Bonneville High School. Faye married the love of her life, Roger Monson, in 1968. They lived in Idaho Falls after building their first home on Honeybee Lane. They went on to build a life in Leadore, owning the Leadore Cash Store, cooking hot meals for the school students in Leadore and working for the Forest Service in Helena and Dillon, Montana, prior to retiring in 2006. Whether at work, at home, or in the community, Faye was admired for her deep love for her family and the people she surrounded herself with.
Faye found joy in playing cards, Bingo, crocheting, reading, geocaching, panning for gold, camping, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Faye is survived by her children, Steven (Kara) Lowe of Spokane, WA, Kimberly (Ron) Eskelsen of Idaho Falls, ID, Kathryn Lowe of Lancaster, CA, Kaylene (Deb) Monson of Goshen, Idaho, and Kris (Brad) Foster of Idaho Falls, ID; her sister, Sherry Kirtley of Idaho Falls, ID; and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Roger Monson, her mother and father, and siblings, Beth, Bonnie, Bob, and Dale.
Faye was a loving wife, mother, Mom, Mommy, Mamacita, Momma, Grammy, Miss Faye, Grandma Faye, and friend to many.
Funeral services for Faye will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the LDS Church in Lincoln located at 3700 E. Lincoln Road, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, Ammon, ID 83406, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and celebrate a life filled with love and meaning.
