Faral Melvin Covert

Faral Melvin Covert, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 23, 2024 in Rexburg, Idaho.

Faral was born November 28, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Delbert Steven Covert and Alice Theresa Samargis Covert. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

On August 15, 1969, he married Goldena Mae Butler in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Faral and Goldena made their home in Idaho Fall, where Faral worked as a foundryman.

Faral was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had many artistic interests including oil painting. He worked hard and tried in everything he did.

Faral is survived by his son, Travis Covert of Rexburg, ID; daughter, April (Eric) Barzee of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Kay Covert of Iona, ID, Gary (Eleanor) Covert of Shelley, ID, and Mike (Twila) Covert of Placerville, CA; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, one sister, a daughter, and a grandson.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
