Franklin Carl Day, 102, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 27, 2013, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Darrell Staples. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.
He was born September 4, 1911, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ira Hugh Day and Della Ottillia Hazen Day. The family moved to Burley, Idaho, where he attended schools.
On July 22, 1933, he married Virginia Fowles in Burley, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 9, 1934. His wife preceded him in death on January 3, 2002. Carl owned and operated the Model Cleaners in Idaho Falls. He later sold the business and became a dairy farmer.
Carl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including scoutmaster, Bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, Patriarch, and temple worker.

32 Grandchildren, 69 Great Grandchildren, and 17 Great Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife; three grandsons, one granddaughter, and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Day.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2965 East 105 North, with Bishop Ryan Loftus, of the Homestead Ward, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery.
