EVERETT E. HARRIELL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Everett Ervin Harriell, 99, of Idaho Falls, died November 9, 2009, at Good Samaritan Society, Idaho Falls Village.
Everett was born March 18, 1910, in Many Springs, Missouri, to William Porter Harriell and Victoria Johnson Harriell. He grew up in Oregon County, Missouri. Everett enjoyed playing basketball in school. He graduated Valedictorian of Alton High School in Alton, Missouri. He taught grade school for two years prior to moving to Idaho.
In the spring of 1934, he moved to Idaho Falls on the recommendation of his good friend, Noel Lance. He worked for the Reed family farm for several years.
On October 12, 1934, he married Melva Alice Theobald in Blackfoot, Idaho. Everett met Melva at the Reed ranch; she worked there assisting Mrs. Reed in her daily duties. Together they raised one son, LaDon. Everett and Melva eventually began buying several farms in the New Sweden area. His life centered around working on his farm: his farm and his family brought him joy. His farm was a diversified operation, involving livestock, potatoes, grain, and alfalfa. Most business was done on a handshake.
Everett was a member of the Potato Growers Association, Cattle Association, Farm Bureau, and Grange. He received the Conservation Award for his good farming practices.
In his later years, he and Melva enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Melva Harriell, and a son, Everett LaDon Harriell, both of Idaho Falls, ID; 5 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, & 1 Great Great Grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ambrose and Lawrence, and two sisters, Laura and Jettia.
Graveside Services in his honor will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Fielding Memorial Park.

Dear LaDon and family:
I was so sorry to hear of your Fathers passing, although I am sure it was a welcome release. I know that even though we think we are ready for this, it is always hard to finally let go. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mom and your kids. You were always a good Son. Love to you.

I have known the Harriell family for over 50 years. Our office, The Falls Insurance Center, has written insurance for Everett and his wife during those years. I can remember the many times when Everett came to our office and always tipped his hat and was polite and appreciative of any help we could give him. It's too bad that he didn't get his wish to live to be 100 years old!

Dear Melva & LaDon, we are praying that God will give you comfort and solace, knowing that Everett is totally free. Melva, you & Everett were our inspiration in the days of Farm Bureau and when we were first married. You are very special!
May God bless you in the days ahead.

I was sorry to read about your dad. I am sure he loved a full life, living to the age of 99. He accomplished a lot over all those years. That is amazing. Please know that I care and I express my thoughts of sympathy to all of your family.
Remember: memories are the legacy of love . . . .

We are sorry for your loss, but happy for Everett's ability to rest now. Working hard is it's own reward, but when the time comes to go home it can be a relief.
