Mary Evelyn Draper Findlay Thompson, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away April 19, 2013, of causes incident to age. She was under the care of One Source Hospice and Fairwinds – Sandcreek Assisted Living Center.
Evelyn was born May 12, 1925, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Francis Marion Draper and Mary Wright Draper Lim. She graduated from Moreland High School.
She married Leonard Dee Findlay February 17, 1944, in Blackfoot, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Leonard passed away February 20, 1960. Evelyn lived in Blackfoot, Idaho for forty years. She worked as a secretary for Kerr & Williams while living in Blackfoot and for AEC at the site. On January 11, 1964, she married Jack Boyd Thompson for time, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They spent their lives together in Idaho Falls. Jack passed away September 9, 2012. Evelyn was a homemaker and mother to eight children, Linda, Brent, Kelly, Boyd, Paul, MaryEllen, Bill, and Jacklyn.
Evelyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several callings, including Relief Society President, Stake and Ward Primary, and Stake and Ward Young Women. Evelyn and Jack served in the Idaho Falls Regional Family History Center and as officiators in the Idaho Falls Temple. They served a full-time mission to the Toronto Canada LDS Temple from July 1993 to December 1994. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and her family.

31 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson;
Brother-in-law, Eddie Barrus of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister-in-law, Leola DaBell of Moreland, ID;
Sister-in-law Darlene Pool of Boise, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her sons, Kelly and Brent Findlay, four brothers, Arnold, Arvel, Jack, and Richard Draper, a sister, Norma Barrus, her stepfather, Rulon Lim, and seven stepbrothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Travis Wilkins officiating. The family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Groveland Cemetery.
