Evelyn Mae Wolfley Leavitt, 89, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Shelley, passed away May 17, 2016, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. Evelyn was born April 20, 1927, in Etna, Wyoming, to Alma Edward Wolfley and Ruth Eveline Whitecar Wolfley. She grew up and attended schools in the Star Valley area. On November 2, 1943, she married A. Ross Leavitt. To this union were born four children, Darlene, Debbie, Rodney, and Lyle. They were divorced in 1963. Evelyn made her home in Idaho Falls, where she worked at The Bon/Macy’s and Huntsman Groceries in Shelley. She was a hard worker and supported her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She overcame obstacles with grace and perseverance. She loved to cook and made the best divinity. She enjoyed dance, crochet, working on puzzles, and playing the piano and organ. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Ronald) Mitchell of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Debbie Lynn (Monte) Davis of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Gerald (Jean) Wolfley of Pasco, WA; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Rodney R. Leavitt and Lyle R. Leavitt; grandsons, Bryce Monte Davis and James Ross Leavitt; brothers, Darwin and James Wolfley; and two sisters, Ruth Elaine and Myrna Ilean Wolfley.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Fielding Memorial Park, 4602 South Yellowstone Highway. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
