EVELYN HUNTSMAN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Evelyn Balmforth Huntsman, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 29, 2007, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Evelyn was born October 20, 1916, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Lorenzo Balmforth and Eva Whiting Balmforth. She spent her early years there, later moving to Clark, Shelley, Woodville, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. She married Lenard Glenore Huntsman June 7, 1934, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their first home in Woodville and later moved to Shelley and Osgood, then to Idaho Falls. Evelyn was a devoted career mom and had ten children. They were always welcome in her very clean home that usually smelled like bread or cookies baking. All important discussions were held in her kitchen. She was lovingly called "Grandma Great" by all her great grandchildren. Lenard passed away May 21, 2001. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served the Young Women’s program, the Relief Society, and spent many years doing Family History extraction. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking. Her hands were never idle as she was always busy scrubbing, washing, sewing, canning, and baking. In the evenings she knitted, crocheted, or embroidered. She made beautiful quilts as well. Grandpa & Grandma Huntsman had large gardens both out of necessity and because of their love for the earth. We greatly admired Aunt Evelyn. She set a wonderful example for her posterity. She was a grand lady. Evan is particularly sad to see the last of his Grandfathers' generation gone. We are sorry for your loss. May the memories be a comfort. Sincerely, Evan & Jean Huntsman
