EVELYN BARRIE UCON, ID -- Evelyn Davenport Barrie, 88, of Ucon, passed away July 18, 2007, at her daughter’s home of causes incident to age. She was under the care of Idaho Home Health & Hospice. She was born April 17, 1919, in Woodville, Idaho, to Ezra Sperry Davenport and Martha Arminta Higley Davenport. She grew up in Woodville and attended Taysom Elementary School. She graduated from Shelley High School. She married James Ritchie Barrie October 31, 1939, in St. Anthony, Idaho. They made their home in Ucon, where she was a homemaker and mother. She also worked as a nurses aide at LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a teacher in the Primary and Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed making quilts, sewing, camping with her family, and was an avid reader. Survivors include: Son: Lynn J. (Karen) Barrie of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Lloyd J. (Ann Maria) Barrie of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Denice (Ross) Jenkins of Ucon, ID Daughter: Bonnie (Mark) Brandt of Gresham, OR Son: David A. Barrie of Arco, ID Brother: Clair Davenport of Salt Lake City, UT Sister: Elaine Saunders, Milwaukee, OR 23 Grandchildren & 38 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, Nettie Forbes Bartlett, Vera Richards, Stella Papic, Velda George, and Ila Burtenshaw, two brothers, Lawrence Davenport and Floyd Davenport, and two grandchildren. Michael Benjamin Barrie and Katherine Denice Isaacs. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Ucon LDS Ward, 10854 North 41 East, with Bishop Tim Solomon officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, Idaho Falls, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. -------------------------------------
