EVA HAMMER-SHERMAN
VISALIA, CA --
Eva Agnes Hammer-Sherman was born September 1, 1930, and passed away March 27, 2008, in Visalia, California, at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with illness.
Born Eva Agnes Walton in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Eva was the youngest of 14 children born to Clarence S. Walton and Ora Valentine Lentz Walton.
Being a strong willed and independent woman, Eva held a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime, ranging from field work in Iowa as a young girl to electronics assembly in the state of Oregon, from which she retired in the late 1980’s.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Hank Sherman, her parents, Clarence and Ora V. Lentz-Walton, brothers, Melvin, Alvin, Allen, Alfred, Murrel and Harland, sisters, Lavina, Laverta, Hazel and Louise, and her son: Jimmy Duane Hammer.
She is survived by sisters, Beulah Starry, Etha Lester and Lillian Scott, son, Dan Hammer, daughters, Kathy Jo (Toni) Hammer and Melody Hammer-Camarillo, Daughter in Heart, Cindy St. Claire, Grandchildren: Gary Hammer, Suzy Hammer, Craig Hammer, Stephanie Camarillo, Anthony Camarillo, Celina Camarillo and numerous great-grandchildren.
Per Eva’s request she will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after an informal visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon Friday, April 4, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, Idaho Falls..
