Eva Lucile Goodson Cook, 92 years and 11 months, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, at her home.
Eva was born November 3, 1921, in the St. Leon area near Idaho Falls, to Jacob William Goodson and Maud Lindholm Horman Goodson. She attended Eagle Rock and St. Leon Elementary Schools and graduated from Ammon High School.
On March 24, 1940, she married Joseph Leo Cook in Taylor, Idaho. In 1946, their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also worked as a medical and dental receptionist, secretary, travel agent, and as a Bonneville County Deputy Auditor.
Eva was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many years with the youth and children’s organizations. She also served as a temple worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was continually learning and enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, reading, and music. She is a shining example to her posterity in all things good.
She is survived by a son, three daughters, 35 Grandchildren, 72 Great Grandchildren, and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two grandsons.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Ammon LDS 13th Ward, 7118 South Ledgerock, with Bishop Brad Ferney officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
