Eula Peterson

Click Here To View Memorial Video Eula Afton Svedin Peterson, 95 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Septmeber 29, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her loving family. Eula was born October 5, 1918, in Rigby, Idaho, to Carl Fredrick Svedin and Mary Kathern Post Svedin. Eula attended Rainy Dell Elementary in Irwin and also attended schools in Rigby and Idaho Falls. On September 9, 1937, she married Levoy F. Peterson in Rigby, Idaho. From this union they were blessed with six children. Eula was a waitress and a cook at Changnon’s in Swan Valley. She also worked as a housekeeper at the old Idaho Falls Hospital. Eula was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and crocheting. Eula is survived by her daughter Sheryl Lyn Lowe of Idaho Falls, ID; son in-law, Jim Mechling of Idaho Falls, ID sister in-law, Molly Calderwood of Idaho Falls, ID daughter in-law, Shirley Peterson of Shelley, ID son, William (Esther) Peterson of Idaho Falls, ID daughter-in-law, Rula Peterson of American Falls, ID son, Robert (Queenie) Peterson of Boise, ID numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levoy; a daughter, Gaynol Mechling; two sons, Wayne Peterson and Doyle Peterson; a grandson, Travis Lowe; a great granddaughter, Tyla Peterson; brothers; Carl Svedin, Wendel Calderwood and Don Calderwood; sister, Lavaun Peterson; and son in-law, Robb Lowe. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Annis Little-Butte Cemetery with Bishop Jerry Tomlinson of the Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Hands of Hope Hospice, 1379 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID, 83404.
