Click Here To View Memorial Video Parson Eugene Richards, 77, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away October 16, 2015, in Boise, Idaho. Eugene was born October 1, 1938, in Shelley, Idaho, to Elmo K. Richards and Melva Lamb Richards. The family moved to May, Idaho, when Gene was 17. There he met the love of his life, Alice Lorraine Traughber. They were married on July 28,1956. Gene and Alice had four children, Kathy, Brent, Janene and Scott. The family lived in Salmon, Blackfoot, St. Anthony and Emmett, Idaho. Gene was a talented hard worker. He worked in construction and ranching most of his life. He owned a well drilling business for several years and the family loved working with him. The family enjoyed many happy times fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and riding horses. Gene And Alice loved to dance and they were always together. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Alice Richards of Emmett, ID; son, Brent(Jackie) Richards of Boise, ID; son, Scott (Kristi) Richards of Ashton, ID; sister, Bertha Edmunds of Spring City, UT; sister, Maxine (Ken) Homer of Rupert, ID; brother LeRoy (Colleen) Richards of Blackfoot, ID; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Katherine Richards and Janene Richards; his parents; brother, Kay Richards; brother-in-law, Jack Edmunds. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4602 S. Yellowstone Highway. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 Ridge Avenue.
