ETHLYN CHRISTENSEN Click here to view Ethlyn's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ethlyn Cook Christensen, 74, of Ammon passed away January 2, 2010, at the Gables Assisted Living Center in Ammon. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born March 21, 1935, in Garfield, Idaho, to John William Cook and Philena Barrington Cook. She attended school at Garfield Grade School and graduated from Bonneville High school. Ethlyn married Delwin Treasure on October 29, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were later divorced. She married Christian Raymond Christensen on September 19, 1992, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and a mother and worked in homecare for the elderly. She was also a cook at Riverview Hospital in Idaho Falls. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Primary and was the Relief Society President and Chorister. She worked in the Family History Library with her husband for 18 months. She also served a full-time mission in Houston, Texas. Ethlyn enjoyed painting, music, embroidery, and family history. She is survived by Her Husband, C. Raymond Christensen of Ammon, Son, LaVon (Mary) Treasure of Merced, CA; Daughter, Bonnie (Phillip) Wells of Shelley, ID; Daughter, Donna (Jed) Stokes of Leadore, ID; Son; Dean (Karen) Treasure of Marsing, ID; Son, Darrell (Traci) Treasure of Meridian, ID; Brother, Dale Cook of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother, William Cook of Mesa, WA; Brother, Melvin Cook of Mesa, WA; Brother, Don Cook of Pleasant Grove, UT; Sister, Ila Sellers of San Bernadino, CA; 18 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ruth Barnes and Mary Stringham. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the Idaho Falls LDS St. Leon 1st Ward, 6925 North 15th East, with Val Lowder officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
