Ethel Effie Ames Baron, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 23, 2014, at Promontory Point Rehabilitation.
Ethel was born August 27, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Leroy Ames and Ethel Effie Orner Ames. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
On June 1, 1949, she married Cecil John Baron at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born nine children, Rick, Philline, Kneil, Bret, Dalena, Kim, Genia, EdRoy, Ethanne. Ethel and Cecil made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Ethel was a homemaker.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several callings including Temple Worker for twenty-seven and a half years and also served a five year Temple Mission. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and visiting other Temples.

daughter, Philline B (W Blair) Wilding of Lima, MT;
son, Kneil C (Marsha) Baron of Orlando, FL;
son, Bret N (Diane) Baron of Spanish Fork, UT;
daughter-in-law, Elaine (Bill) Stevenson of Blackfoot, ID;
daughter, Genia B (Roger) Ward of Mendon, UT;
son, EdRoy L Baron of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Ethanne B (Patrick) Mallory of Chula Vista, CA;
brother, Aldred F (Sarah) Ames of Boise, ID;
sister, Belva Davis of Caldwell, ID;
34 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cecil John Baron, a daughter, Dalena B Heller, a son, Kim J Baron, a great granddaughter, ʹAulani Elizabeth Baron, son in-law, Glenn Heller, a sister, Gladys Dimos, four brothers; Azel Ames, Uriel Ames, Udell Ames and Levi Ames, and a sister in-law, Bethene Ames.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS East Stake Center, 1860 Kearney, with Bishop Gregory Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to defray expenses.
