Esther Hoxer

Esther Lynn Hoxer, 57, of Victor, Idaho passed away December 14, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, from complications related to an ovarian tumor.

Esther was born January 23, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, to Keith Lindquist Hoxer and June Connell Hoxer.  She grew up and attended schools in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School. Esther also attended Weber State and The University of Utah where she earned her LPN and received an RN degree from Stevens Henager College. Esther practiced nursing for over 30 years in Utah, Alaska, Oregon, and Wyoming. She most recently worked as an RN at St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, WY.

Esther was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms, she always had a ready smile for friends and others. She traveled the world and spent a year bicycle touring New Zealand, camping along the way, where she made numerous friends. She always enjoyed the outdoors and had found her dream location and home in Victor where she could ski, bike, hike and garden.

Esther is survived by her best friend and husband; David Hewes of Victor, ID, to whom she was married for 27 years. She was exceptionally proud of and fiercely loved her children: Riley Hewes and Abbey Hewes. As adults, they became great friends to her. She also cherished the time she spent with her aunt; Claire Schwartz. Esther’s surviving siblings are: Larry Hoxer, Michael Hoxer, Chris Hoxer and Cindy Eckenbrecht.

She was preceded in death by her parents June and Keith and brother Arron Hoxer.

At Esther’s request, no services will be held, instead she would ask that people spend quality time with their loved ones.
