Esther Hays

Esther Marie Thornock Hays, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 8, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Esther was born June 3, 1954, in Montpelier, Idaho, to George Walter Thornock and Karen Francis Pope Thornock. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. On September 24, 2001, she married David Gene Hays in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where Esther worked as a bartender. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed embroidery, wrestling, shopping, dancing, and most of all, being with her family. Esther is survived by her son, Daniel Thornock (Aubrey Cromwell) of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Walter (Peggy) Thornock of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Terrill (Patsy) Thornock of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Carolyna (Barry) McAlevy of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Jerry (Vicki) Thornock of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Georgie (Sandi) Thornock of Pocatello, ID; brother, Tommy (Donna) Thornock of Idaho Falls, ID: sister, Brenda (Richie) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; three step children, Tammy (Steve) Menendez, David Hays, and Randy Hays; grandson, Taylor Hays; and three step grandchildren, Bailey, Jacob, and Annalee Cromwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thornock and Karen Borchard; husband, David Gene Hays; two brothers, Farrell Benjamin Thornock and Edward Earl Thornock; two sisters, Louise Thornock Hammer Perham and Georgia Lee Thornock; and a step grandson, Tobias Cromwell. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
