ESTHER APKER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Esther Cecelia Strong Apker, 86, of Idaho Falls, died September 13, 2006, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was born May 23, 1920, in Naples, Idaho, to Fred Strong and Agnes Butler Strong. She graduated from high school and lived in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Colorado and in Idaho Falls the past 42 years.
She worked in various occupations, from a "Rosie the Riveter" during the war, to owning and operating a Bar, to retiring as Cashier at Parkview Hospital in Idaho Falls.
She was baptized a member of the Roman Catholic Church and also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and the Gold Star Wives. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and loved her cats.
She is survived by:

Son: Doug (Debby) Apker, Boise, ID,
Daughter: Leigh (Michael) Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Marie Chance, Redlands, CA
12 Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ray Thibadeau and Stan Apker, a sister, Cleo Hill and two brothers, Joseph and George Strong.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Cory Brower officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood East Side
At Esther’s request, her ashes will be inurned at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Missoula, Montana.
