Click Here To View Memorial Video Errol C. Thomas, 79, of Malad City, Idaho, passed away October 18, 2014, at Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho. Errol was born August 10, 1935, in Malad City, Idaho, to Curtis Thomas and Catherine Evans Thomas. He grew up and attended schools in Malad and graduated from Malad High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and lived in several places throughout the country. On November 28, 1958, he married Ellen Sue Lincoln in Crescent City, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on May 3, 1960. Errol and Ellen Sue made their home in Crescent City for fifteen years, San Francisco, California, for five years, and moved back to Malad in 1970. Errol worked as an insurance agent for Modern Woodmen of America, as a Sheriff’s deputy, at the Bank of America, and owned and operated a gas station and bowling lanes. Ellen Sue passed away September 4, 2006. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed his family and service work. Errol is survived by daughter, Jill M. (Christopher) Shields of Pocatello, ID, daughter, Joy L. Bates of Arco, ID, son, James L. Thomas of Malad City, ID, son, John E. (Chloe Deschamps) Thomas of Malad City, ID. 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by parents, Curtis and Catherine Thomas, the love of his life, Ellen Sue, his son, Peter B. Thomas, and a son in law, Jack Bates and a sister, Shirley Hess. Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Malad LDS 3rd Ward, 400 North 200 West, with Lance Tripp officiating. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the LDS Church Missionary Fund or give a flower to a living loved one.
