Errol Barr

Errol Leon Barr passed away February 23, 2018, at the age of 78, at his home in Firth, Idaho, of natural causes. Errol was born December 13, 1939, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Charles Jess Barr and Efcebia McCowin Barr. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools in the surrounding area and graduated from Bonneville High School. On June 20, 1957, he married the love of his life, Carol Lucille Sheeley, in Dillon, Montana. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in December of 2000. Errol and Carol made their home with their family in Firth, Idaho, and Errol worked as a metal fabricator throughout most of his life for Idaho Falls Steel Products Company.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served several callings in the Scouting program. Errol loved vacations at Lake Powell with friends. He enjoyed traveling with his children. He was a great outdoorsman and spent many hours grooming his yard. He was sweet, outgoing, and enjoyed serving others. He was a selfless, loving human being. Errol is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Barr of Firth, ID; three daughters, Kim Marie Burns (spouse, Allan Burns) of Firth, ID, Tamara Larie Horton-Kauhaahaa (spouse, David Horton) of Lynnwood, WA, Karie Lynn Harper of Spokane, WA; two sons, Jay Leon Barr of Post Falls, ID, Craig Errol Barr (spouse, Shana Barr) of St. George, UT; step-sister, Arlene Bienz of AZ; 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Efcebia McCowin Barr; son, Michael Quinn Barr; and three brothers, Arthur I. Ball, Ferrin Charles Barr and David Jess Barr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the LDS Stake Center located at 823 North 675 East in Basalt, Idaho. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
