ERNIE MACHEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ernest Clarence “Ernie” Machen, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 18, 2006, at his home of natural causes.
He was born November 23, 1918, in Burton, Idaho, to Joseph Bellamy Machen and Rose Schlottie Lyman Machen. He grew up in Burton and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He served as a Corporal in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He married Joyce LaVon Ivey June 30, 1945, in Boulder, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple April 23, 1962. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where he worked as a farmer and dairyman. Joyce passed away November 24, 1999.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing cribbage.

7 Grandchildren & 15 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, three brothers, Glen Machen, George Machen, and Earl Machen, and two sisters, Lillie David and Alta Simms.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS 4th Ward, 955 Memorial Drive, with Kevin Hathaway, 2nd Counselor in the 4th Ward Bishopric, officiating.
The family will visit with friends Thursday 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
