Ernest Lester Lee

Ernest Lester Lee, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 23, 2026, at his home.

Ernest was born March 6, 1936, in Heyburn, Idaho, to Lester Lee and Amy Pratt Lee. He grew up and attended schools in Heyburn and Pocatello. He also attended College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho.

On August 31, 1996, he married Connie Eva Rasmussen Smith in Shelley, Idaho. Ernest and Connie made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Ernest worked as a head custodian for School District 91.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Sunday School Superintendent in Heyburn. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and camping.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Connie Lee of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Jeanne Kerbs of Rigby, ID; daughter, Brenda Holms of Murray, UT; step-daughter, Kelle Erickson of Rexburg, ID; step-daughter, Leslie Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; step-daughter, Alisa Smith of Missoula, MT; sister, Cora McGary of Shelley, ID; sister, Diane Haslam of Smithfield, UT; brother, Robert Sundstrom of Smithfield, UT; sister, Carma Pirrong of Boise, ID; and sister, Ruth Ann Lee of New Plymouth, ID; step-sister, Marge Carstensen of Boise, ID; and step-sister, Karol Saunder of Shelley, ID.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Lee; and daughter, Linda Gowen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Home Ranch Ward, 2051 S. Emerson, with Bishop Rick Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
