He and Velda are two of my favorite memories of growing up. He was such a quiet, unassuming man whom I held the utmost respect for. I still remember riding in the back of his car to conference in Billings, snapping and chewing my gum in a very unlady like manner. I think that was the only time he spoke louder than his usual quiet tone when he said, "Who's popping that gum?" I don't think I ever popped my gum again that trip, and if I pop my gum today I think fondly of Ernie. Ernie and Velda opened their home to my family when daddy passed away and it was good to be with them both. What a grand reunion he must be having with the old Lewistown Branch and Ward members. Our love to Velda and the rest of the family. Larry & Eddie Crouch :-)
