Click Here To View Memorial Video Ermina Beth Kistler, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away September 13, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. Ermina was born March 20, 1930, in Bladen, Nebraska, to Albert Laverne Kistler and Delma Gertrude Letner Kistler. At an early age, Ermina moved to Idaho with her family. She attended schools in Cedar Draw and Filer, graduating from Filer High School in 1948, and attended college in Albion, where she received her teaching certificate in social studies and physical education. She taught in Blackfoot in 1950. In 1952, she moved to Idaho Falls to teach in School District 91. She taught at Central, O.E. Bell and Clair E. Gale. She was a coach and drill team instructor at O.E. Bell. In 1990, Ermina retired after 40 years of teaching. She received Teacher of the Month from the Kiwanis Club and the Ravsten Annual Award at Idaho Falls High School for her dedication to teaching, coaching and students. Ermina was a lifetime member of the Filer Eastern Star, where her mother was grand matron. She had been a member of the Eagles Lodge for 36 years. Ermina played softball for the Rockettes, an Idaho Falls girls fast-pitch team. She was a catcher and center fielder. She won the batting award at the Idaho State Tournament in 1953. Ermina started bowling in 1954 in an Idaho Falls Women's League. In 2006, she was nominated into the Idaho Falls Bowling Hall of Fame. She was the first teacher to bring bowling to junior high schools. Ermina is survived by Sister, Jean Hollifield of Jerome, ID; Brother Jim Kistler of Twin Falls, ID; Longtime friend, Joy Dwigans of Idaho Falls, ID; Nieces, Karla Tarbet, Kaylynne Rolig, Rhonda Yadon, Karole Bedow; Nephews, Jim Hollifield and Mike Kistler. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Buddy, Ike, and Mike, and her baby sister Audrey. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. Brief graveside services will be held in the Filer Cemetery at approximately 3:00 p.m.
