Ermila Sturgeon

Ermila Sturgeon, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 13, 2020, at her home.

Ermila was born December 3, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to William  Sturgeon and Lupe Aguirre Sturgeon.  She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.  She then moved to Texas and met her future husband, Juan. They were married in Ucon, Idaho, and settled in Idaho Falls. Together they had two children, Alexander and Elizabeth. They were later divorced.

Ermila was a devout Catholic. As a service-oriented woman, you could often find her volunteering for the hospital or making stuffed animals for the Fire Department. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, completing crossword puzzles and word searches, and creating embroidery pieces.

Ermila is survived by her loving children, Alexander (Brooke) Gutierrez of Idaho Falls, ID, and Elizabeth (Scott) Lange of Phoenix, AZ; mother, Lupe Aguirre Sturgeon; grandchildren, Hayden and Lily Gutierrez; sister, Rosa (Vince) Sanchez of Idaho Falls, ID; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Sturgeon Sr., brother, William Sturgeon, Jr., and nephew, Wenceslao Sanchez, Jr.

Private family services will be held.
