Erma Steele - 03/11/2003 Erma Steele - 03/11/2003 ERMA P. STEELE IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO: Erma Poll Steele, 93, of Iona, died March 11, 2003 at her home. She was under the care of her family and Aspen Home Health Care. She was born January 1, 1910 at Elva (now Ucon), to William Albert Poll and Ida Millissa Berrett Poll. She grew up and attended schools in the area. Following graduation, she attended the College of Southern Idaho (Idaho State University) in Pocatello. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Education. On May 30, 1933, she married Max W. Steele in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was always proud of her work as a schoolteacher. She retired in 1975 from the Iona Elementary School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed handwork, cooking and gardening. Survivors are:Sister: Georgia Rosa, Vancouver, WA8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sons, Robert and Vern; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003 at the Iona LDS 2nd Ward with Bishop Ken Wrightson, officiating. The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 p.m. at Wood East Side (963 S. Ammon Rd.). Burial will be at the Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
