ENOCH "WEB" WEBER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Enoch "Web" Weber, 81, of Idaho Falls, died September 24, 2005 at his home. He was born February 20, 1924, in Linton, North Dakota, to Jacob and Lydia Weber. Web was born at home on the farm, delivered by the country doctor. He had 10 brothers and sisters. Later the family moved to Missoula, Montana, where he attended school. On January 13, 1944, Web was inducted into the Army as a Combat Infantry Man and was a member of the 87th Mt. Infantry Regiment where he fought the campaign in North Appennines Po Valley. He spent most of his military time in Italy. He received the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge as a Private First Class on March, 1946. After his military life he received his education as an Journeyman Electrician.
In 1956 he met Nina M. Exler Bauer, and they married September 13, 1957, in Elko, Nevada. They lived in Roberts, where he worked at the INEL as an electrician. In 1964 they moved to SwanValley to become the owners and managers of Changdon's Lodge and Café. In 1965 they purchased the Timberline Bar and Cafe in Victor. When they sold the Timberline in 1970, they moved to Swan Valley. They lived in Swan Valley, Ririe, and then Idaho Falls. Web worked for the City of Idaho Falls and later the Idaho Department of Highways, which he retired from in 1986. He was a current member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Web had a strong spirit and loved to have fun. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, camping, snowmobilling and dancing and after retirement he spent time with his wife Nina, traveling the Western States and spending winters in St. George, Utah. In his later years Web pursued his hobbies of bowling, playing cards, shooting pool and visiting the casinos in Fort Hall, Jackpot and New Mexico. He spent a lot of time with his two daughters, Becky Bauer-Page (husband Douglas Page) of Idaho Falls and Priscilla Hall (husband Howard Hall) of Los Alamos, New Mexico. He is also survived by his daughter Juanita Loyear of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and step-son, John Cowden (wife Carol) of Idaho Falls. He also has four grandchildren, Airica Mae Staley (husband Eric Fleischmann), Trenton Lee Stoltenberg, David Douglas Page (wife Amy), and Jason Web Green (wife Misty); step-grandchildren Ryan (wife Kristy), Nicholas and Melissa Hall; and six great grandchildren, Tristyn Kinley Page and Aidan Orion Fleischmann; Kade Nickolas, Harrison Ray, Drake Parker Web, and Miranda Jo Green. He is preceded in death by all but one of his siblings, both his parents, three grandchildren and his wife Nina, on June 7, 2000.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2005, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge).
Burial of his ashes will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home with Joseph Pehrson of the Universal Life Church officiating. He will be buried with Military Honors by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team. His ashes will then be mixed with his wife, Nina’s, and interred together forever and for all eternity.
